Improv for Leadership and How Playfulness Builds Trust

On today's episode...

I tried to “look professional,” but felt awkward. Ironically, I looked foolish trying to “look professional!”   What I really needed was to BE  Fool-ish to stand in my full authority.  Look, we are all tired of pretenders.  We are sick of gurus and bullies and leaders who take themselves too seriously!  Our favorite leaders are authorities who still have a sense of humor. So why do we keep trying to “look professional” by keeping a straight face, lowering the tenor of our voices, and saying long words?  Aw screw it.  It’s time to integrate your  Fool, laugh at yourself, and lighten up.  You’ll find, as I have, that doing so engenders more respect, embodies more authority, and radiates more authentic power than keeping your Fool only for your kids and dog at home.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • Why “looking professional” can weaken your authority
  • How improv principles like “yes and” reshape leadership and communication
  • The role of the fool archetype in authentic expression and influence
  • How collaboration outperforms competition in modern business
  • What it takes to build real client trust in a skeptical market
