TELL YOUR CLIENT’S STORY

You know when you’ve found your perfect fit mentor. Because they are that person who tells your story better than you ever could. They GET you. They are ahead of you on the path, and can hold you through the next steps. You know this, because they know exactly what you’re going through, and they know where your story is headed. You can trust that person.

Too many spiritual entrepreneurs understand this when we are hiring a mentor, but we don’t understand how it applies to people hiring US!

If you’re a multi-talented, deeply guided, super gifted mentor/healer/guide yourself…

yet you have to work to get clients…

you struggle to explain your complex work, prove to people that it works, defend your value and pricing…

There’s one reason why you’re struggling to attract your perfect fit clients.

You’re not telling their story with enough specificity, passion, and connection.

You’re likely describing your modality, your background, and all the varied things you can help with.

That doesn’t work.

It’s impersonal.

Worse, it’s all about YOU, instead of about the person hiring you.

Instead, dare to be specific. Choose one type of person-in-desperate-struggle that you know you could help. Bonus points if you lived through the same struggle yourself once upon a time.

Now tell that person’s story.

Even in your short description or “elevator speech,” you should tell her story!

Instead of “I help retired women with creativity training, energy healing, and writing coaching.” (yawn)

You can tell her story more personally, and say

You know how some of us empty-nester moms retire at age 60 and are hit with a panic we don’t expect? Instead of relaxed and relieved after retirement, we find ourselves feeling sluggish, lonely, and suddenly useless in a fast-paced world, ignored and invisible because we accidentally became “old women?” We think to ourselves – “I’d better find a new purpose and passion, or I’m gonna fade into this couch watching Golden Girls and sipping gin and tonics till I break a hip and die!”

Well, I help recently retired suddenly individualized grown-ass women to write the book of their dreams, igniting their next chapter of sovereign delight, adventurous travel, and occasional affairs that meet us on our own terms.

What about on the top of your website or sales page?

Should it just say

Hi, I’m Mellissa and I help intuitives grow their businesses. (understandable but boring)

or should it say

You know how during these wild times of radical change and techno-expansion and soul-suffering, many of us intuitively gifted types are feeling a prodding from the Universe to really “get to work” and “go bigger” with the sacred message we are here to offer. But we feel queasy when we see slick “marketing” and we don’t want to do pushy sales, and if we do this thing, we need to do it with integrity otherwise what’s the point. We need support facing the demons that hold us back, including past life memories of being killed for doing what we’re about to do again! We know we are not normal, and we can’t do “business as usual.” We kinda like secret agents for god. So we can’t mess this up!

Well, my Channel Your Genius Academy serves as a one-stop-shop just for intuitively gifted folk and super-creatives, where we learn biz strategies that leverage our compassion, our depth, and our invisible teams. I know, I know. You’re scared of leaving people out. It’s scary to be specific. It seems like you’re limiting the reach of your work.

But you’re not.

Until you learn to climb inside the skin of your ideal clients and tell THEIR stories – including their fears, their secrets, their hidden hopes and dreams… you won’t attract ANYONE with such ease.

And if you DO tell the story with authenticity, it will attract more than just that type of person. It will turn on your attraction magnet, and all who share that frequency will come to you.

Tell their story. Be specific. Chose who you’re here to serve. Get honest about the first problem they are desperate to solve. Be their true ally BEFORE they hire you. Because it’s not really about you. It’s about them.
