5 Failures of Channels (A Mellissa Rant)

OK this is my rant.

I need to share a rant about channels and channeling.

I know I could get myself into some trouble. I work with a lot of channels. I’m a channel myself. My business is called Channel Your Genius. Clearly I’m interested and engaged and invested in wisdom teachers who are bringing through bigger wisdom from a source bigger than ourselves.

But there are five things that I am seeing channels doing in this world that are so bad that I have to call them out!

Number One: Vanity Channeling.

This is where you claim to be the one true voice of Quan Yin, Mary Magdalene, Mother Mary, or some other famous spirit person. This is bullshit.

These energies are way bigger than any one person can be the voice for.  When you claim that you know what she wants to say, you’re looking foolish, you’re leading people on, and you’re playing a dangerous game of the ego. Stop vanity channeling.

If you have some essence coming through you that reminds you of Magdalene, go ahead and share it, but with that caveat. Don’t you dare claim to be her only voice because you’re not, and you never will be.

Number Two: Gobbledygook.

This is when a channel doesn’t make any goddamn sense, on purpose. They just go into full trance, and let the energy make sounds.  Now, light language has its own transmission. Sound has healing power. Of course it has a transmission.  But sometimes the “channel” is just making groovy sounds, hiding from the need to actually be heard, received, understood by anyone else in the room.

Whether you’re channeling through sounds or words, they whole point is that you channel them ALL the way through so they LAND with someone other than just your ego.

So as a Channel, I feel like it’s our job, my job, your job, our job… to create real results in the real world for real people. It’s not just about giving sound or voice to something that sounds groovy, or even that makes people feel a little intoxicated on the energy.  In my opinion “feeling intoxicated on the energy” does not have a high value in the world right now.  It’s what the energy creates that matters.

Number three: Passing the Buck.

This is when a channel basically says, “it’s not me. I didn’t say it. I didn’t do it. It was Metatron. It was my guides!” They pass the buck, not taking responsibility for the real world consequences and how the messages are being received and utilized. This is very problematic.

We’re seeing issues with some channels starting to discredit other authorities, other experts, including medical experts, legal experts, people who actually know what they’re talking about, scientists.  And, no, I’m not saying that all scientists and doctors are infallible either. But as a Channel, I think you have a responsibility to not just pass responsibility on because you’re a Channel!

You’re still a vessel, a translator. You’re the human bringing the message through. Yeah, you’re a teacher.

You do have a responsibility to be a vessel that is responsible for yourself, yes, and to the people who are listening – to real life humans in real life.

Number Four: Copycatting.

It’s not channeling to simply regurgitate whatever Abraham said through Esther. That’s not channeling. That’s Esther Channeling, and that information being re-translated by your mind. And it’s totally rad, but don’t claim that you’re channeling just because you’re regurgitating it.

Dude. Just because they were channeling doesn’t mean that you can then take the copyrighted material and pass it off as your own and sell it and try to establish an authority business based on somebody else. Sorry! Not so sorry. OK .

Number Five: Shenanigans.

Shenanigans is the cute word that I put on some thing that’s not that cute.  That is when a channel uses their ability to tap higher forces, other wisdom worlds, and other dimensions in order to do whatever they damn well please… including hooking clients, lying to people, making people reliant on their services and their messages, playing a guru game or otherwise doing what’s not in the highest good.

As a Channel, if you want my respect, and you want to hold yourself in integrity, you must be devoted to the highest good above all. That means above your revenue stream, highest good above your personal desires, highest good above your desire to keep clients coming back and back and back.

Anything that’s done using your spirit gifts, not in the highest good, I call it shenanigans. I also call it sorcery. You’re creating karma and drama for yourself and for everyone connected. Don’t do it.

So now that I’ve outed my little five rants about channeling I’m curious what you think. I’m curious if you’ve got stories or ideas about how this comes across in real life.

>>> You’re INVITED to Sacred Messenger Success – a masterclass/retreat experience <<<

I am devoted to making sure that true channels who are working in integrity, standing in humility, as well as in confidence, coming from authority that is higher without claiming that authority as their own.

I am interested in true channels like I just described becoming leaders on this planet, becoming the true guides and innovators, because I think that we are all channels of genius.

In our best moments, we are ALL open vessels for the best stuff to flow through us, and that we as vessels have a responsibility to the genius that flows through us to do so with integrity in the highest good, in devotion to the humans, the earth and all beings.

So I want to INVITE YOU to Sacred Messenger Success – a half-day masterclass/retreat on June 21, 2023, designed for those who are growing their path as a sacred channel/messenger – as a business.  It’s a potent half-day of healing, visioning, and revealing the most important keys for professional wise women – those of us who make great $$$ as a channel, oracle, wisdom teacher.  And it’s available for a $47 minimum contribution that benefits indigenous wisdom keepers.

Yes!! I have shared in these sentiments regarding integrity and our ability to impact our karma and others, which is a huge response-ability. Just because we can channel doesn’t always mean we should unless is truly for the highest and greatest good, and when ego is involved, that is subjective and far less clear. Thanks for sharing this!

Yep, I agree 100%. These behaviors give true channelling a bad name. They anger me, too.

Love this post! Especially passing the buck. As we all were gifted free will, therefore, we are in control of everything we say or do. Yes, we are the vessels, but we always have a choice in what we allow to be spoken or done. That is why we are called vessels and not puppets! As long as you choose to say or do something regardless if it is channeling or not it is your CHOICE, your free will. Trance state or not there is always an awareness of what you are saying. One channels by consent or allowing. What one consents to or allows to be spoken or done is the individuals full responsibility! I have been training in mediumship for many years with multiple teachers/mentors and one thing rings true with them all. “Do No Harm!” Just because something is coming through doesn’t always mean you should say it or do it. Again, we get nudges from our guides all the time, but how often do we actually follow through? We are in complete control of our being and there is no passing the buck. Not even when you claim, it’s because you channeled it. Thank you for this post. As I have found the same nonsense running rampant on social media and internet. And to be honest, it makes us all look bad. How can we expect people to take us seriously when their are so many con artists and fakes all over mainstream media?
